Paver Sealing

Where Quality Matters

Restore Your Pavers

Brick and cement pavers are a beautiful long-lasting alternative for driveways, walkways, patios, and pool decks, without several of the limitations that come with concrete. But like all exterior products, they do require some general maintenance and have a life expectancy, especially when it pertains to their integral color. Accurate Painting of NWFL has performed many paver restoration projects in the Destin, 30A, and Santa Rosa Beach areas of NW Florida. We provide a solution to clean and seal the pavers, restoring them to even better than their original condition.

If you’ve had decorative paving installed on your property, like a patio floor, walkway, retaining wall, pool deck, or even a fire pit, paver sealing can keep it looking new and extend its lifespan.

Your project is not finished until you decide what kind of sealer to use. Most prefer a sealer that gives a “wet” or high-gloss finish. Then you need to apply the sealer.

Paver Sealer Application

Applying sealer is best done by spraying, instead of using a roller. A roller can collect sand from paver joints and spread it over the surface of the pavers. A water-based sealer is preferred over a solvent-based sealer, as it can cause environmental damage. Water-based sealers soak better into the joints between pavers than do solvent-based sealers. They are more resistant to damage by ultra-violet light and less prone to yellowing.

Advantages of Sealing your Pavers

There are benefits to applying sealers to pavers. A good sealer will improve the look of the pavers, with a glossy finish. Sealers are also good for resisting weathering, stopping weed growth in joints, and resisting stains. A good sealer will also help improve drainage, as it prevents normally porous pavers from absorbing moisture and having it accumulate.

Proper paver sealing has other advantages, too. They slow the loss of sand in joints. They are easier to clean, a plus for those providing routine maintenance. And, besides preserving the color and the texture of the pavers, the correct sealer can enhance both. If you have to pressure wash your pavers, the sealer can even prevent the loss of sand in the paver joints as a result of the high-pressure water.
